Terms of Use & Community Rules

Version 2026-05-26 · last updated May 2026. This is a plain-English starting template, not legal advice — have a solicitor review it before launch.

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Pinderella ("the service") you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter this agreement. One account per person. Don't use the service if you're barred under applicable law or sanctions.

3. What the service is

Pinderella lets you post a "pin" describing a person you crossed paths with and a message, and lets people who believe they're that person respond. We are a venue for these connections — we are not a party to them.

4. We don't verify people

We do not verify the identity, intentions, background or claims of any user, including anyone who responds claiming to be your missed connection. Anyone can claim to be someone they're not. You decide whether and how to share your details or meet, and you do so at your own risk. Meet in public, tell someone where you're going, and trust your instincts.

5. Your content and the rules

You're responsible for everything you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it. You must not post anything that:

• is false, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful or obscene;
• is intended to track, intimidate, shame or expose a specific person;
• reveals private information (such as someone's home or work address, phone number or workplace) used to identify or locate them;
• names a person alongside an accusation of wrongdoing;
• promotes anything illegal, or infringes anyone's rights.

Keep descriptions light and respectful. Pins are shown to others as an approximate area, not your exact location.

6. Consent to be connected

When you post a pin you agree that we may display it (as an approximate area) and connect you with people who respond claiming to be that person. When you respond to a pin, you agree your profile may be shared with the poster if they accept your claim.

7. Licence

You keep ownership of what you post. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host and display it for the purpose of running the service. The licence ends when the content is removed, except for copies in backups or required for legal reasons.

8. If a pin is about you

If someone posts a pin describing you and you want it removed, you don't need an account — use our removal page or the "this is about me" link on the pin. We act on valid requests promptly. These terms don't limit any legal rights you have.

9. Reporting and enforcement

You can report pins and users. We may remove content and warn, suspend or permanently ban accounts that break these rules or harm others — at our discretion and, where serious, without notice.

10. Premium & payments

Some features require a paid subscription, billed through our payment provider and renewing until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; access continues to the end of the paid period. Posting pins is always free.

11. Suspension & closing your account

You can suspend or delete your account in Settings at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you break these terms.

12. No warranty & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for the conduct of any user, for interactions or meetings arising from the service, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here excludes liability that can't be excluded by law.

13. Changes

We may update these terms; we'll post the new version here and update the version number. Continued use means you accept the changes.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
