Privacy Policy

Who we are

Pinderella ("we") operates this map-based service for reconnecting with people you've crossed paths with. For UK/EU users we act as the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect

Account data (email, hashed password, optional name, age, bio, photo and contact handle); content you post (pins, descriptions, messages, claims); and technical data (IP address, approximate country, pages visited, and login attempts) which we use for security and basic analytics.

How we use it

To run the service, match posters with people who respond, send transactional emails (verification, claims, matches), keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We rely on your consent and our legitimate interest in operating a safe service.

Location

Pins are shown to other users only as an approximate area, never your exact reported point, to protect the people described.

Sharing

Your profile and contact handle are revealed to another user only when you accept their claim. We use processors including our email provider (Resend), payment provider (Stripe), and hosting (Railway). We don't sell your data.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or restrict processing. Use the delete option in Settings for erasure, or contact us. You may complain to the UK ICO.

If a pin describes you

You don't need an account. Anyone who believes a pin describes them can ask us to remove it via our removal page, or by using the "this is about me" link on the pin itself, which hides it immediately while we review. We act on valid requests promptly.

Retention

We keep account data while your account is active. Deleting your account removes your personal data and content; limited security logs may be kept briefly for fraud prevention.

Cookies

We use a single essential session cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising cookies.
